Fairfax Holiday Craft Show
More than 200 art and food purveyors come together at the Fairfax Holiday Craft Show at Fairfax High School (3501 Rebel Run, Fairfax). This year, you can pick up an array of items, from recycled CD art to handbags to Southern peanuts. Saturday, November 20, from 10 to 5 and Sunday, November 21, from 10 to 3. Admission is $5.
Culpeper Holiday Open House
Historic downtown Culpeper kicks off its Christmas season with a daylong celebration. Local stores will offer discounts on gifts and decorations, and there’ll be trolley rides, holiday music, and storytime for the kids. Noon to 5.
Washington Craft Show
Find a hostess gift for Thanksgiving or start your holiday shopping a little early at the Washington Craft Show. More than 180 artisans will show their wares, from jewelry to baskets to metalwork, at the Washington Convention Center. Friday, November 19, and Saturday, November 20, from 10 to 6 and Sunday, November 21, from 10 to 5. Admission is $15.
Capital Collection of Holiday Shops
Check out the Capital Collection of Holiday Shops, the annual fair sponsored by the Junior League with more than 70 vendors. Pick everything from a colorful bow tie from Bird Dog Bay to a bejeweled bangle by Mija Jewelry. At the Marriott Wardman Park Friday, November 19, through Sunday, November 21. Admission is $10.
Sugar Plum Bazaar
The Washington Ballet Studio is kicking off Nutcracker season with a holiday market, featuring gifts from local artisans and stores, such as ballet-themed ornaments from Russian Treasure Chest and gourmet cookies from the Cookie Guy. Merchandise from the studio’s Sugar Plum Shoppe will also be available, and shoppers can get their photos taken with characters from The Nutcracker. Saturday, November 20, from 3:30 to 8:30 and Sunday, November 21, from 12 to 5.
