Where & When: What to Do Tonight

Free food and happy hours with a little something extra

Take a break and treat yourself to a free cupcake from the new Crumbs Bake Shop (604 11th St., NW). It’s celebrating its opening by giving away flavors such as chocolate pecan pie, apple cobbler, and peanut butter and jelly. Open 7 to 5.

We know you would never drink and drive, but tonight the Wonderland Ballroom is hosting a Drink and Draw happy hour and contest. It provides the tools, booze, and prizes—all you need is your creative talent. 6:30 to 8:30; free.

Known for moody landscapes and intimate portraits of the male body, Bill Travis opens his new exhibit, “Bodyscapes,” at the DC Center for the LGBTQ Community (1318 U St., NW). The exhibit explores the connection between the human body and the natural world. 6 to 8; free. The exhibit runs through January 5.

Want to know what’s really in your glass of DC tap water? Probably not, but the speakers at Nerd Nite are going to tell you anyway. Sip a drink while learning about carbon dioxide and climate change, followed by a performance by the Russian Futurists. At the Red Palace; 7. Purchase tickets ($10) here. Stick around for a free dance party at 10:30, featuring DJ Snudge vs. the Metaphysical.
