James Clifford, who has designed gowns for notable brides such as former First Daughters Julie Nixon and Luci Baines Johnson, debuted his own line in 2005. This weekend, his latest designs are in a trunk show at Betsy Robinson’s Bridal Collection. Call 410-484-4600 to make an appointment.

Saturday, February 5
If you’ve got the ring on your finger but have no idea what to do next, check out “Engaged . . . Now What?,” an interactive seminar at the Embassy Suites DC Convention Center. The 2011 Cherry Hill Ballroom Wedding & Events Expo, hosted by Minute Events, is at Cherry Hill Park (9800 Cherry Hill Rd., College Park). There'ill be Champagne and hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, and opportunities to meet with florists, photographers, caterers, custom jewelers, and other wedding professionals. 11 to 5. Free.

Rose Hill Manor (42140 Raspberry Plain La., Leesburg) is hosting a bridal open house and tours of the property. The Jeffersonian-style estate sits on 23 acres and offers a number of options for ceremonies and receptions. 11 to 4. Free.

There’s a “Wedding Soiree” at the St. Gregory Hotel featuring hair and makeup demos, skincare advice, wedding-gown consultants, live entertainment, and more. Each attendee will receive a free gift bag. Buy tickets ($20) at A Wedding Soiree—they’re also available for $25 at the door. 6 to 9.

Wednesday, February 9
A favorite of many local brides, the band Highway Star plays a wide variety of cover songs, ranging from Motown and soul to Beyonce and Pink.
