There’s been a lot of recent movement in the lobbying world. Foley & Lardner bolstered its public-policy group with the addition of partner Christopher Grigorian, who was previously at Arent Fox. Grigorian focuses on the automotive industry.

Lighthouse Consulting welcomed Catrina Rorke, most recently chief energy advisor to former South Carolina Republican Representative Bob Inglis, who lost his reelection bid last year. She joined the firm as a legislative director.

Kelly Lavin, previously the head lobbyist at the American Physical Therapy Association, is now the assistant director of federal health policy at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney.

And Liz Lopez joined Barnes & Thornburg’s federal-relations practice as of counsel. She previously worked for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.

McGuireWoods announced this week that it has launched a new political law practice, headed by Elliot Berke and Bill Farah, who recently joined the firm as partners. Berke previously had a solo practice, and Farah was a partner at the Oldaker Law Group. The new practice advises clients on the laws, regulations, and compliance requirements surrounding political activity.

Several partners have jumped to new firms. Malcolm Sandilands joined Dickstein Shapiro’s corporate-and-finance practice from Bingham McCutchen. Manatt, Phelps & Phillips welcomed intellectual-property litigator Mike Ryu. He came to Washington from Paris, where he practiced at the law firm Cabinet Beau de Loménie. Hogan Lovells added partner Michael Yuffee to its energy-regulatory practice. Yuffee joined from McDermott Will & Emery, where he headed the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission practice. Finally, Caplin & Drysdale promoted Michael Durham, William Klimon, Lucy Lee, and Joanne Youn to partner.
