Where & When: What to Do Tonight

A DJ battle, classical concert, and salsa lessons

DJ: U Street Music Hall plays host to a handful of up-and-coming DJs during the Red Bull Thre3Style Competition. Each participant has 15 minutes to play their selections of three styles or genres of music and get people on the dance floor. 8 PM; free.

PARTY: Get a jump start on Cinco de Mayo and learn to salsa at Artisphere’s celebration. At 7:30 take a salsa class with Eileen Torres, then dance for the rest of the night to the music of Rudy Gonzalez y su Lokura until 11 PM. Buy tickets ($15) at the Artisphere’s Web site.

MUSIC: Tonight’s offering at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage is the quartet Pièces de Résistance. They specialize in classical selections that were deemed “unworthy” by the Nazi regime and otherwise might be lost. 6 PM; free.
