DOGGIE YOGA:
The pose “downward dog” takes on a whole new meaning at tonight’s Doggie Happy Hour Yoga Session. Bring Fido and a yoga mat to the Jackson 20 courtyard for a free session with Pure Prana Yoga. Afterward, you can enjoy drink specials at the bar, along with plenty of water and biscuits for your four-legged date. Yoga begins at 6 PM; Happy hour from 5 to 8 PM.

BEER: Craft beer connoisseurs won’t want to miss Jolly Pumpkin Cask Night at Churchkey. Some of the brewery’s rarest Artisanal Ales—Luciernaga (The Firefly) and Bam Noire—will be on cask. Plus, they’ll be pouring a slew of Jolly Pumpkin beers on draft including Oro de Calabaza, Madrugada Obscura, Maracaibo Especiale, Luciernaga (The Firefly), and ES Bam. The event is free, but beers will be priced individually. 6 to 8 PM.

MUSIC: Eleanor Friedberger of The Fiery Furnaces is dropping by the Black Cat to promote her first solo album, “Last Summer.” The album, which comes out today, fuses indie rock with hints of pop to create the perfect summer soundtrack. You can sample a few of her tracks here. Tickets ($10) can be purchased at the event Web site. Doors open at 8:30 PM.

SIGNING: Take your voracious teenage reader to meet author Maggie Stiefvater as she signs her latest book, Forever, which is the third installment in her The Wolves at Mercy Falls series, at the Tyson’s Corner Barnes and Noble. The final installment in her bestselling trilogy follows love-struck teenage wolves as they struggle to stay together—and alive. The book signing is free, but attendees must present a Barnes and Noble or BN.com receipt to participate. 7 PM.
