A DIY Wedding on the Eastern Shore and a Super-Spooky Event in Maryland

We do the research so you don’t have to: inspiring real Washington weddings (and engagement sessions!) from our favorite blogs.

Summer, we miss you. Photographs by Meaghan Elliott Photography

We’ve finally begun to accept that it’s not warm outside anymore (yes, we were in denial for a while). But at least we can reminisce about sunshine and surf while looking at these photos by Meaghan Elliott Photography of a DIY Eastern Shore wedding. Love those bridesmaid purses and cute striped straws!
Borrowed & Bleu

Halloween this week meant a lot of eerie events around the blogosphere. This Edgar Allen Poe–themed wedding (you read that right), kind of blew our minds—and we were psyched to see that it took place at Middleton Hall in Waldorf, Maryland. While this spooky wedding style might not be everyone’s cup of tea, you have to praise the couple’s commitment to detail, from the coffin ring holder to the skeleton-hand boutonniere.
Rock ’N’ Roll Bride

The newlyweds in this Meridian House affair are just so stunning it’s hard to believe they’re not models. The rich chocolate, bronze, and cream color scheme is beautifully executed—oh, and don’t forget the adorable little flower girl!
Style Me Pretty

This just goes to show that you don’t need much for a gorgeous engagement shoot. I guess you could call it the four B’s: books, a blanket, board games, and a blue dress.
