Revolve Fitness to Take Cycling Rides Outside

Indoor cycling classes will be held outdoors for Clarendon Day.

Here’s something you don’t expect to hear: “Today’s indoor cycling class will be held outside.”

But that’s exactly what’s happening this Saturday at Revolve Fitness. To celebrate Clarendon Day, the indoor cycling studio will take its bikes outside for four of its classes.

Here’s the catch: Only 20 of the bikes will be stationed outside, just half a block away from the studio on Clarendon Boulevard (the space adjacent to CVS between Washington and Clarendon boulevards). There are plenty of seats open, but classes tend to fill up quickly.

The following classes will be offered outdoors:

Barre Ride at noon: The instructor will take you through 30 minutes of intense cycling and 30 minutes of barre-based exercises, including squats and other muscle-burning leg exercises.

Complete Body Ride at 1:30 and 3 PM: This 45-minute class involves rigorous cycling combined with strength-training using either two-, three-, or five-pound weights.

Community Ride at 4 PM: This free class is open to anyone, so bikes are available on a first come, first served basis.

Single classes are $20, plus $2 to rent cycling shoes. Towels, water bottles, and cycling shoes will be available at the outdoor location on Saturday, so there’s no need to stop by the studio on North Fillmore Street.

Clarendon Day will also feature street food vendors, the Clarendon Day 5K and 10K, and an entire block devoted to health, wellness, and fitness hosted by the Virginia Hospital Center.
