The Shoe Hive Pops Up on Capitol Hill This Weekend

The stellar Old Town Alexandria boutique brings “boots, Burch, and other giftables” to Tabula Rasa.

Shopping local sometimes get tricky when the goods stores aren’t within walking distance. And shopping for designer shoes and other accessories gets tricky in the Capitol Hill/Eastern Market area because of the lack of quality boutiques. So allow us to present the ideal solution to both conundrums: a quality boutique (Old Town Alexandria’s the Shoe Hive) is popping up in Barracks Row Space (Tabula Rasa) tonight through Sunday the 16th.

If you’re not familiar with the darling store, expect the vital components of a Washington wardrobe: Tory Burch booties, Kate Spade wedge heels, classic leather totes, and plenty of subtle, goes-with-anything jewelry. Owner Elizabeth Todd (profiled in our April Women of Fashion story) says she’ll be stocking the pop-up with all her bestsellers, so if you’re holiday shopping with a classically chic DC lady in mind (possibly yourself?), this will be a guaranteed great place to look.

Dubbed “Hive on the Hill”, the pop-up is also an excellent opportunity to check out Tabula Rasa, a beautiful mixed-use space that has been occupied by all sorts of interesting fashion events (like the Carnelian boutique pop-up and launch party) since its opening.

Hive on the Hill at Tabula Rasa (731 Eighth St., SE; 202-487-6332) launches tonight with a cocktail party from 7 to 9. It’s open Friday 11 to 8, Saturday 10 to 8, and Sunday 10 to 5.
