The New Guard: David Muse

David Muse

Artistic Director, Studio Theatre

The Washington Post called Joy Zinoman’s 2010 departure as artistic director of Studio Theatre “one of the most significant changes in years at the top of a Washington performing arts organization,” but David Muse, 38, has proven a more than worthy successor. He has presided over two audacious seasons and is well into his third. He was nominated twice in 2012 for a Helen Hayes Award, for directing The Habit of Art and Venus in Fur. With Muse, Studio’s stages promise to remain among the most creative and respected in Washington.
