Parisian Shoe Designer Pierre Hardy Teams Up With Nars

Shoes plus makeup. Is a better pairing even possible?

At this point, it’s no secret that we get pretty pumped about special designer collaborations. But our excitement is not limited to clothing collections. Case in point: When Nars recently announced an upcoming limited-edition collection designed in partnership with avant-garde shoe designer Pierre Hardy (his first beauty collab), we instantly began looking forward to the line’s designated launch date on May 1. Well, surprise, surprise: Turns out the collection launched early (at least online)!

The modern new collection takes inspiration from Hardy’s summer 2013
shoe designs
, all dramatic color combos and graphic cubic patterns, and
features six nail polish pairings and two blushes. The polish hues are
arranged in striking complementary duos—think dreamy lavender with soft
lemon and warm peach with rich burgundy—and come packaged in mini
shoeboxes with equally tiny dust bags as a fitting nod to Hardy’s
footwear background. The bold blush palettes are emblazoned with a
golden version of the designer’s signature cube print. Click through the slideshow to see the full collection in detail.

Nail polish pairs, $29, and blush palettes, $41. Available now at Nars.
