Old Town’s Christmas in July
For the fourth year, Alexandria’s Union Street celebrates Christmas in July, during which 15 Old Town retailers and organizations will offer shopping deals and family-friendly activities. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the local children’s literacy charity the Reading Connection. Among the in-store festivities: Zoe Boutique throws a one-day-only Black Saturday sale, featuring discounts that increase with each additional purchase, plus a trunk show and personal appearance from Alexandria native turned NYC designer Kathlin Argiro, who will create fashion sketches for customers; Coco Blanca hosts a painting demo and trunk show with local artist Martha Lechner Spak, and the Lucky Knot will feature a Sperry Topsiders trunk show and giveaways from the brand. Frugalista Fashion Night
