What’s special: At this four-diamond resort on the Eastern Shore, guests can be pampered at the spa,

Charm City

What’s special: This Embassy Suites, formerly the Tremont Plaza Hotel, just underwent a $14 million
renovation. The luxurious hotel provides amenities such as free wireless internet,
free cooked-to-order breakfast, and complimentary cocktails. In addition to upgrading
all guest-room kitchens and baths, the renovations include a new restaurant and bar,
B’More Bistro and Lounge, and a fitness center. The hotel is about a half-mile walk
to the Inner Harbor.

The deal: The Discover Baltimore package includes two nights’ accommodations in a one-bedroom
suite, valet parking, four tickets to the Baltimore Zoo, four tickets to the National
Aquarium, and four tickets to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum. Mention

New York, New York

What’s special: At this New York City hotel, guests enjoy comfortable beds and good-size rooms and
suites, all with kitchenettes (microwave, refrigerator, dishes, and flatware). Breakfast
is included—with yogurt, bagels, cereals, fruit, and waffles on weekends—as is free
wi-fi. The staff is friendly and helpful, and a lounge off the lobby is an ideal spot
to meet with friends. There’s a small gym and free use of a fitness center one block
away with a 25-meter pool. The hotel is near Lincoln Center, Central Park, shops including
Zabar’s famous gourmet and housewares emporium, and the American Museum of Natural
History. And the price is always right—the “New York With Kids” guide ranked it second
among “top ten family-friendly hotels,” and Fodor’s and Zagat both consider it one
of New York’s hotel finds.

What’s special: This eco-friendly boutique hotel is a welcoming place, with its nightly open-bar
wine party, addictive truffled popcorn, and a striking modern lobby with original
artwork. The hotel has spacious rooms and suites, a fitness center, and a restaurant.
It’s also pet-friendly. About ten minutes away are the Barnes Foundation museum and
the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The deal: The Perfect Picnic package includes customized picnic baskets for families, couples,
and leisure travelers with gourmet sandwiches, snacks, and beverages; you’ll also

What’s special: The newly renovated lodge offers guest rooms in a main house as well as four cabins,
all nestled amid towering pines. First opened in 1928, the lodge has luxury bed linens
and free wi-fi. Mornings begin with a free gourmet country breakfast. Guests can relax
at the lodge or enjoy the amenities at nearby Lake Naomi, a quarter-mile walk, where
they can kayak across the 277-acre lake, relax on the sand beach, hike and bike, golf
on a nine-hole course, and play tennis on outdoor or indoor courts.
