Can’t get to one of Current’s four area locations? Not a problem—starting today, the DC-based consignment chain brings its merch online with the launch of a brand new e-commerce store. Owner Carmen Lopez tells us she decided to start the online shop after receiving requests from customers who wanted to snap up pieces they’d spotted on Current’s blog and Facebook page.
“It was a natural progression to move it online and make the process a little bit easier,” says Lopez. “We have a ton of great inventory, so this is providing another forum for our customers to purchase it. It’s a win-win for everyone—for consigners and for us.”
The selection—which totals 500 pieces at the launch, with additional items to be added weekly—has been carefully curated from the store’s consignment stock by Lopez and her buyers, and there’s a strong focus on high-end brands and quality fabrics. A few faves? Lopez is particularly taken with this fire-engine-red silk Zac Posen number ($996.95), but we’re also loving this Alexander McQueen military jacket ($318.99), these sequined Steven by Steve Madden smoking slippers ($44.99), and this shimmery copper-hued 3.1 Phillip Lim frock ($127.99).
