DC Restaurant and Bar Closures/Openings During the Winter Storm (UPDATED)

Plus a list of who's planning to stay open for the long haul.

What could be an epic winter storm is closing in on Washington, and with Metro shut down for the weekend, many restaurants and bars will temporarily close. On the flip side, a number of neighborhood establishments are trying to stay open for the long haul (i.e. until the power goes out). Find a list of those brave eateries below. Regardless, make sure to call your destination to double-check the status before heading out, and remember: safety first.

Closures:

Restaurants that have announced their closure due to the winter storm.

Dino’s Grotto: Closed Saturday, reopening on Sunday at 4 pm with specials.

Gruppo Restaurants (Fiola, Fiola Mare, Casa Luca): Closed Saturday.

Pleasant Pops: Closed Saturday.

The Royal: Closed Saturday, Sunday TBD.

Vinoteca: Closed Saturday, Sunday TBD.

Shake Shack: All area locations are closed Saturday.

Texas Jack’s Barbecue: Closed Saturday.

Bastille: Closed Saturday.

El Camino: Closed Saturday lunch, dinner TBD.

Cava Grill: All locations closed Saturday.

Bangkok Golden: Closed Saturday.

Bluejacket: Closed Saturday, reopening TBD.

Darlington House: Closed Saturday, reopening Sunday with specials.

Daikaya: Closed Saturday, Sunday TBD.

2941: Closed Saturday and Sunday.

Pizzeria Orso: Closed Saturday, Sunday TBD.

Boundary Road: Closed for brunch on Saturday.

Whole Foods: Tenley and Georgetown locations are closed for Friday; P Street and Foggy Bottom close at 5 pm Friday.

Pearl Dive: Closed at 7 pm on Friday (open before for lunch/happy hour).

Toki Underground: Closed all weekend starting Friday at 5.

Black Jack: Closed until further notice.

The Dabney: The kitchen closes at 8 pm on Friday, and is closed all day Saturday.

Central: Closed Friday through Sunday.

Sushi Taro: Closed after 8 on Friday.

Thip Khao: closed Friday, possibly through the weekend.

Jetties: Penn Quarter and Foggy Bottom locations, closed Saturday.

Black Market Bistro: closed Saturday.

Momofuku CCDC: Closed Friday and Saturday for dinner.

Carmine’s: Closed Saturday.

Chez Billy: Closed Saturday.

Trummer’s on Main: Closed Friday and Saturday.

Mockingbird Hill: Closed Friday.

District Taco: All locations closed Saturday.

Jetties: All locations close at 3 on Friday, and remain closed Saturday.

Surfside taco stand: Closing at 4 am on Saturday morning, and closed throughout the rest of the day. Reopening on Sunday at 11 am.

Flight Wine Bar: closed for the storm.

Pizzeria Paradiso: All locations are closed, except for the Dupont branch.

Fuego Cocina y Tequileria: Closed for Friday dinner.

Pupatella: Closed Friday.

PassionFish Bethesda: Closed Friday.

Staying open through the storm:

These restaurants have vowed to stay open (unless the power goes out), and many are offering snow storm specials. It never hurts to call ahead before braving the elements, just in case.
