Travelers at Baltimore/Washington International Airport will have more local dining options this year. Bethesda-based food service company HMSHost partnered with restaurateurs Mike Isabella and Bryan Voltaggio to bring two new eateries to BWI Thurgood Marhsall: a branch of Voltaggio’s diner-inspired Family Meal, and another Kapnos spinoff, Kapnos Marketa, from Isabella. A third concept, Brix & Vine, will focus on wine, incorporating Maryland vineyards.

Isabella has been expanding his presence at airports across the country; the chef is behind a Kapnos Taverna at Reagan International Airport, a spinoff of Pepita at LAX, and a Floridian-style eatery in Pensacola. His Greek/Mediterranean venture at BWI will include a gyro counter and quick-grab items.

This will be Voltaggio’s first foray into terminal dining, and the fifth location of Family Meal. Like the others, the American restaurant will serve breakfast through dinner. All of the eateries, along with a new Starbucks, are slated to open in the spring and fall of this year.
