What a disappointment! I would like to know their definition of "fresh" fish. Why serve Lousiana crab cakes when the Chesapeake Bay is in their own back yard? My husband's fish was so tough that he had to saw it with a knife! As for the desserts of which the Washingonian raves, all I can say is"NOT". My apple tart was so tough that I could not cut it with my fork alone. My husband's chocolate bread pudding was equivalent to chewing a sponge and had about the same amount of flavor. My only positive comment is that our server was knowlgable and patient, yet that did not make up for the horrible meal. Avoid this restaurant!
Over the past seven years we have visited Washington often due to a son in college and now working in the area. Most of our dinning experiences have been positive and we enjoy the variety of restaurants available in the area. We recently had dinner at Hook in Georgetown and found Hook's food quality below average, with small overpriced portions, and a poor level of service.
Even the Cosopolitans were smaller than usual. The crab cakes had to much filler and the deserts were also a disappointment. The coffee was excellent. Service was not with a smile, brought our bread after we asked for it after they served the main course, and brought the check to my wife.
Washington has some great restaurants, I would avoid this one.
