They were 45 minutes late with our table which meant 45 minutes at the bar. The drinks are fabulous- try the passion fruit martini, which combines fresh p.f. juice, orange rum, ginger and jalapeno. (The jalapeno adds a unique little bite at the end.) By the time our table was ready, we had already spent nearly 100 dollars on drinks between the two of us. They comped us some fresh guacamole, which they make tableside, and which is delicious. The food was pretty good, but not great. Spareribs were tasty; the flank steak and potatoes were extremely salty. Dessert was noticeably underwhelming. The biggest drawback to eating at Cafe Atlantico is sitting near the Minibar and knowing you could be having so much more, or less, as it were.

Having dined here for dinner in 2008, I was looking forward to experiencing lunch. My husband and I were very disappointed to see what I call "Pub Food" of 2 of the 3 lunch entree options during Restaurant Week. Cuban ham & Swiss cheese grilled panini, Quesadilla or trout. My husband eats sandwiches for lunch daily in Crystal City & stated the sandwich shop he frequents was far more delicious than the greasy Medio Dia. Watching the faces of customers that received the trout proved to be entertaining. Let's just say we were happy we did not order it, presentation wise.
Having dined at 4 restaurants throughout Restaurant Week, this is THE week for restaurants to shine; to entice new customers & showcase the finer side of dining. This failed.
