I have dined at Me Jana a couple times now and have overall had a decent experience. I have a couple of suggestions though...first, call ahead and make a reservation. I would even ask to make sure you have a booth or else you run the risk of sitting side by side other diners in a too cramped space. The hummus is very good, however, the pita gets hard very quickly. Almost like they put in in the microwave to get it all cozy hot. The portions are well sized for the price, not like Zaytinya where I always seem to not want to share my 2oz portions. I love the zuchinni that is stuffed with ground beef and simmered in tomato broth. DELISH!!! The fried cheese platter was a waste though. Also, try some of the Lebanese red wines!
Me Jana has a great Lebanese take on the small plate trend. Their mezze are consistently well-executed; there's also a huge amound of variety to choose from, for veggies and meat-eaters alike! I highly recommend the seared haloumi and the chicken shwarma.
Their by-the-glass wine list is surprisingly good, also, which is good...because you will probably be drinking quite a bit of wine to mellow out if you happen to be the least bit impatient. Their service on a Saturday evening was atrocious...we sat at our table for 15 minutes before being served water or approached by waitstaff, and even then we were only done so after I flagged someone down. The bread was even slower to come out, even after the accompaniments had made it to our table.
