On a recommendation for W's Cheap Eats, I went to Tackle Box expecting great New England-style seafood that wouldn't break the bank--and sure enough, that's what I got. While I went for the Maine Meal (the $13 option), I could've gone with the $9 Tackle Box and still would've had plenty of food. The bay scallops were phenomenal, and so were the two sides (mac n cheese and fried green tomatoes), but again--it was a lot of food! Also, I hear the blueberry pie is to die for--we didn't get an opportunity to partake though, as we were stuffed from dinner. Keep in mind that seating is not the greatest and if you want to have a place to sit, I recommend having one person going up to order and the other staking out a place to sit.
If you want fried seafood, might as well go to Arthur Treacher's or bring home Mrs. Pauls. The Washingtonian touts the star chef from Hook as overseeing this place, but he left Hook last summer!
