My wife and I went back to Teatro for the first time in three years. We were excited to check out what the recent hype was about. We were blown away. The cigar box smoked branzino was a huge hit. We obviously had to try the lobster risotto and quickly realized why Zagats called it the best in the city. The atmosphere was alive and jumping and we loved the live jazz music.

What a way to celebrate an anniversary!!!

My fiance and I took my mother to Teatro Goldoni this past Saturday for Restaurant Week. We had high hopes considering the reviews we have seen. We were seated and a server did not acknowledge our presence for at least 10 minutes, and then when we were finally asked "are you ready to order?" The server had a "better than thou" throughout the entire meal. The food portions were EXTREMELY small. We actually laughed when they were set in front of us. My entree consisted of ONE ravioli on a plate and my fiance's was a small slice of veal with no starch. Dessert was no better: a 1"x1" piece of dry almond cake and a shot glass of mousse was my entire plate. We left hungry and it truly pained us to pay the $140 tab. We got robbed.

If participating in Restaurant Week is a way to welcome new customers, it did not work. Waiter was abrupt, very rushed & frequently walked away while ordering food or coffee; did not even welcome nor introduced himself.
Food portions were very small. Appetizer "flatbread" w/ mozeralla di Bufalo was too hard & over-salted, main dish was poached Chilean sea bass..standing solo. Dessert was a torte square literally 1" wide by 1.5" tall. Seriously?
Pinot Noir was served very warm, too warm to enjoy. Though I have never done this before, I had to but an ice cube in it to enjoy. Most disappointing lunch. Atmosphere in restaurant and host was nice & dishes were presented well. But due to waiter, food quality & portion size, I would not return.
