The ambiance at Eventide is great - very loungy. Food was OK, nothing special, but fine.
Then, it took a very bad turn for the worse. After signing our check and still sitting drinking wine, the manager came up and said "I have a favor to ask - we have angry customers downstairs waiting for this table..."
I was livid. I don't care about your angry customers downstairs, because now you've just pissed off an entire NEW group of people.
Obviously there is a problem managing reservations and tables. I have NEVER been asked to leave a restaurant. It was extremely rude and we'll never go back. Not worth it.
We had an early dinner in the dining room. The atmosphere is so comfy and romantic....navy velvet everywhere. Each booth has "doors" on them that close after you sit down. They have put a lot into the atmosphere as well as the food. I love when you are not sitting on top of the people next to you, which makes me love this place.
Our dinners were delicious. I had diver scallops and the papardelle with seafood and my companion had the flat iron steak (which was better than the flat iron steak than Poste in D.C.). They could easily charge more for the level of quality they give you, so it's a real value. Service was wonderful!
Keep your eyes open for this one to be on the Restaurant Week list, since it would be a great deal!
Not only was the server attentive and helpful, but the food was fantastic. I ordered the steak, and yes, it was nothing special in and of itself, but the quality was excellent. It was perfectly cooked, and paired with the Pinot Noir that was recommended, blew me away. My girlfriend had the scallops as a starter, which I also tasted, and I thoroughly liked, along with the carpaccio- Yes, that was delicious as well. My girlfriend had as an entree the cobia "bouillabaise", which was also fantastic.
On a final note, the ambiance and environment could not have been more comfortable. Wide open and spacious, the restaurant should have been loud and overbearing, but was instead friendly and intimate.
The food was fabulous & the decor was beautiful but the service was lousy & the prices are not even close to affordable. It took our waitress a full 20 min. to stop by our table to take our drink order & another 15 min. to get the drinks. Her excuse for taking so long? She had to walk downstairs to get them. Our apps arrived before our drinks! Thankfully someone else delivered our food which was delicious but small. We did order dessert which was okay but not great. After 2 hours (mainly spent waiting for our drinks and food) we got a bill for almost $300. For 4 people, we each had one drink, an entree and a dessert. This place isn't cheap and don't go if you're in a hurry. There are a lot better places that cost a lot less.
