When we walked in to Layalina, I immediately was impressed with the authentic decor - a collection of Middle Eastern art, fabrics and objects that fills and warms the room with intense red and gold tones. We enjoyed versions of classic Middle Eastern dishes, such as Foul M'adamas, Baba Ganoush and Kofte, each made with Layalina's unique interpretation. Our meal was accompanied by attentive service by Layalina's owner, who explained the origins of the dishes that we were eating, as well as his family's additions to the recipes. He even sent out hot water with mint for my congestion! The evening was topped off with a baklawa sent out by the owner made with orange blossom water and almonds, rather than the standard pistachio, walnut and clove
