Thursday, July 16: Just can’t get enough Lance Armstrong in your life? Then you’ll want to head to the WABA happy hour and Tour de France viewing party at Rhodeside Grill tonight. Stage 12 of the race will be taking place, and the bar will have lots of drink specials. 5 to 7 PM. $5 cover charge, which goes to the Washington Area Bicyclist Association.

Any day is a great day to check out a museum, but on Thursday the National Air and Space Museum has something special in store. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the lunar landing, the museum is hosting scientific talks about the moon and other lunar activities from 10 to 3. Admission, of course, is free.

Steven Spielberg’s alien classic, ET, screens tonight as part of the Capital Riverfront Best of the ’80s outdoor movie series. Films are shown every Thursday at sundown (8:45) at Tingey Plaza. For more free summer screenings, see our guide.

Check out the most buzzed-about scene in town by heading to the roof-deck bar at the new W Hotel this evening. DJ Neekola will be spinning tunes from 10:30 PM to 2 AM.

Friday, July 17: Capitol Hill’s Belga Café celebrates Belgian Independence Day with Blondes Have More Fun, during which the staff dons blond wigs and the bar serves two specialty blond-beer cocktails. Leffe Blonde and Hoegaarden are on special all day.

Want to catch some free outdoor music this fine summer evening, but a bit tired of the scene at Jazz in the Garden? Try heading up to Carter Barron Amphitheatre, where the Washington Area Music Association is hosting a music-jam tribute to Patsy Cline and Emmylou Harris. Free; 7:30 PM. Get tickets at the Carter Barron box office from noon to 8 on the day of concert. Tickets are also available at the Washington Post Building (1150 15th St., NW) beginning at 8:30 AM on weekdays.

Get dolled up for a great cause at Josephine. The swank nightclub is hosting a charity happy hour for DC Habitat for Humanity. A $5 or $10 suggested donation gets you in. 6 PM.

Saturday, July 18: More cosmic celebration Saturday at the Kennedy Center: Two free performances of Space Panorama at 2 and 7:30 recreate the moon landing using only Andrew Dawson’s hands and a table—no kidding. The performance is accompanied by Shostakovich’s 10th Symphony and dramatic narration. The event is free, but tickets are required.

If you’re in Montgomery County, you’ll want to head to Gilly’s Craft Beer & Fine Wine in Rockville. The store is holding its Summer Soiree, a large beer and wine tasting with 20 varieties of each to sip on. Free; 4 to 7 PM.

E Street Cinema’s Midnight Madness movie series, which runs every Friday and Saturday through August 15, starts this weekend with Sam Raimi’s cult horror classic Army of Darkness. The third installment in Raimi’s Evil Dead saga, the film stars the awesome Bruce Campbell as tortured hero Ash. Tickets are $10; midnight.
