Washington National Opera Season Opening Night Gala
Date: September 12
Time: 7 PM performance; dinner follows at 10.
Location: Opera House at the Kennedy Center
Program:The season-premiere performance of The Barber of Seville followed by dinner and dancing with the cast in the Hall of the Americas, Organization of American States Building.
Ticket price: $500 for the dinner; tickets to the performance, which start at $110, are sold separately.

Noche Musicál
Date: September 15
Time: 6:30 PM red carpet; event begins at 7:30.
Location: Corcoran Gallery of Art
Program: Hosted by the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts, the event includes guest performances by Bobby Sanabria and La India. Producer and writer Roberto Orci—think Star Trek, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, The Proposal—will receive an award.
Ticket prices: $500 for young professionals (ages 21 to 35); $1,000 for individuals.

The Ambassadors Ball
Date: September 16
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: Hilton Washington
Program: The event, which benefits the National Multiple Sclerosis Society National Capital Chapter, includes a reception, silent auction, dinner, and dancing.
Ticket price: $500

March of Dimes 80s for Babies
Date: September 19
Time: 6 to 10 PM
Location: The Park at Fourteenth
Program: Party like it's 1985 at this 80's-themed dance party—and come dressed for the part. The event will include contests, complimentary hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar.
Ticket price: $20 at the door; $15 in advance.

Alzheimer’s Family Day Center’s 25th Anniversary Garden Party
Date: September 24
Time: 6 to 9 PM
Location: The Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens
Program: The event includes food, drinks, live music, and a silent auction.

Wildlife Conservation Awards Dinner
Date: September 24
Time: 6 PM reception; 7 PM dinner.
Location: Renaissance Mayflower Hotel
Program: CNN founder Ted Turner will be awarded for his environmental work. Animal Planet's Jeff Corwin will emcee. Proceeds from the dinner support Defenders of Wildlife, a national wildlife conservation group.

National Symphony Orchestra Season Opening Ball
Date: September 26
Time: Performance begins at 7 PM; dinner follows at 9.
Location: Kennedy Center
Program: A concert featuring pianist Evgeny Kissin, Hungarian violinist József Lendvay Jr., and the NSO’s principal conductor, Iván Fischer. Dinner and dancing to follow on the South Plaza.

Committee for Education Funding Gala
Date: September 30
Time: 6 to 9 PM
Location: Hyatt Regency Washington
Program: Reception, dinner, and awards ceremony honoring education-funding champions.

Fall Fiesta
Date: October 2
Time: 6:30 to 9:30 PM
Location: Rosemont Center
Program: Live and silent auctions, international cuisine, live mariachi music. Ward 1 councilmember Jim Graham will serve as auctioneer. Proceeds benefit Rosemont Center, a Head Start early childhood development center.

Fight For Children Inaugural Golf Challenge
Date: October 5
Time: Registration at 10:30 AM; tee time at 11:45; 5 PM dinner.
Location: TPC at Avenel
Program: Golfers will receive breakfast before warmup and lunch served on the course. Non-golfers can socialize in the club house, where philanthropist Katie Rost will host a lunch party featuring fall fashion, on-site spa services, golf clinics, and more. In the evening, golfers and non-golfers will join for cocktails, dinner, awards, and live entertainment.
Ticket price: $1,200 for golfers, $500 for non-golfers.
