Vida Fitness: Gym for Multitaskers

Watch TV, order dinner, or get your hair done at this trendy gym

Published Friday, December 01, 2006

You can catch a Capitals game or rock concert while burning calories at Vida Fitness (601 F St., NW; 202-393-8432; vidafitness.com). The three-month-old, industrial-chic-meets-Zen-minimalism club in DC’s Verizon Center broadcasts all of the venue’s sporting events and most concerts live on its cardio equipment’s TVs.

In a hurry? Before hitting the showers, pick up any phone in the club and order a protein shake (from Red Bull to peanut butter) or low-carb dinner (veggie chili to chicken Parmesan) to go. It’ll be waiting for you at the Fuel Bar, where you can pay by touching a fingerprint scanner. Have a date? Get coiffed on site at Bang Salon (202-737-2264; bangsalon.com).
