The five-bedroom house boasts a roof deck, library, sculpture garden, and master-bedroom suite with two bathrooms. Gerson, who was an adviser to Senator Joseph Lieberman’s presidential campaign, has run several start-up companies. He is an executive vice president of the Aspen Institute, in charge of seminars and public programs.

The house has five fireplaces, embassy-size entertaining spaces, and a chef’s kitchen. Guttmacher is deputy director of the National Human Genome Research Institute at the NIH.
