In Maryland: Child-development experts Craig and Sharon Ramey paid the list price of almost $2 million for a four-bedroom, five-bathroom Colonial in West Chevy Chase. The house has a two-story foyer, smart-house wiring system, and three-car garage. The Rameys are joint directors of the Center on Health and Education at Georgetown University’s School of Nursing and Health Studies. They have also written several books on child development. Architect Michael A. Wiencek paid $2.3 million for a Colonial in Chevy Chase. The house, which listed for just under $2.4 million, has seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. Wiencek is president of Wiencek and Associates Architects in Gaithersburg. Lawyer Myron Barlow sold a four-bedroom, five-bathroom brick Colonial in Potomac’s River Falls neighborhood for $1.3 million. The house has three fireplaces and a master-bedroom suite with sitting room. Barlow is a partner at McGrath & Barlow, a DC law firm that specializes in customs and international-trade law. In Virginia: Lobbyist Evan Knisely bought a five-bedroom, five-bathroom brick Colonial in Northern Virginia for $1,450,000. The house has three fireplaces and a chef’s kitchen. Knisely is associate vice president at Van Scoyoc Associates, a DC lobbying firm.
