When a pet gets sick or injured, vet bills can soar, leaving owners with tough decisions. According to SouthPaws Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Center in Fairfax, walking into the emergency room costs $100; resetting a broken bone can cost up to $6,000. Cancer treatments can run as high as $15,000 for chemotherapy and radiation.
Pet owners often say they would do anything to save their animal. How much would you spend—or have you spent—to care for a pet? Let us know in the comments below.

First of all don’t self medicate your dog. My pup had normal pains and I could not wait the next day to take him into the vet. I always heard you could feed your pets tylenol. In this case I only had Aleve... Naproxen Sodium is very fatal and I had no idea. I gave my pup a little bit to find him incessantly vomitting a few hours later. I quickly rushed him to the 24 hour care. They told me that he would be in there at least 5 days and it was likely he would not live due to the liver damage. My pup made it through... and is happy and alive today thanks to the Pender Veterinary Care... I spent $2,500 on teh 5 days and 2 months worth of liver-rejuvinating medicine but it was worth it!
