After an appearance on Tim Russert’s Meet the Press, Samuel Bodman’s staffers at the Department of Energy were saying that it was good Bodman is Secretary of Energy and not Secretary of Education. After Russert asked Bodman for his view on comments made by President Bush in 2000, when he was first running, Bodman replied, “I think that was ten years ago . . . or nine years ago.”
