Dee Martin: 40 Under 40
The young lobbyists with the most influence in Washington By Marisa M. Kashino
Comments () | Published May 23, 2011

Name: Dee Martin
Firm: Bracewell & Giuliani
Age: 38

Martin is a lobbyist/businesswoman hybrid. In addition to advocating for energy, national-security, and financial-services clients, she set up two nonprofit organizations and spearheaded the restructuring of her law firm’s government-relations practice last year. One of the organizations, Minute Mentoring—which she cofounded with former White House press secretary Dana Perino and others—matches young women seeking career advice with accomplished female professionals.

The implementation of the Dodd-Frank bill has kept Martin busy for clients such as the credit-rating agency A.M. Best Company. She also represents the FBI Agents Association, for which she helped pass legislation that makes it easier for law-enforcement agencies to assist the families of fallen officers.
