Poll: Was It Donovan’s Fault?

Who should take the blame for the Redskins 6-10 season?

Amid all the coverage of yet another disappointing Redskins season, Washington Post sports blogger Dan Steinberg, a onetime cheesemonger at Whole Foods, had perhaps the best line about the rise and fall of the season’s star quarterback: “I mean, the Redskins traded for Donovan McNabb and then benched him for Rex Grossman. Still feels like buying a Christmas wheel of Sottocenere al Tartufo and then instead busting out a block of Velveeta for your guests.”

At the beginning of the season, during a brief period of hope, the cover of the September Washingtonian asked, “Can this man save the Redskins?” In answering the question, we hedged our bets, wondering if McNabb was destined to be another of Dan Snyder’s overpriced mistakes—like Albert Haynesworth and so many others before him. So is McNabb to blame for the Skins’ 6–10 season? Or was he made the fall guy for a team that just wasn’t good enough? Answer the poll below and let us know more about what you think in the comments below.
