The omission of Faccia Luna is absurd and both Pupatella and Valentino’s are materially better than the bulk of the contenders. Noting these omissions, Two Amy’s should be the winner, hands down.

Couldn’t agree more that Emilio’s in Ashburn/Lansdowne should have made the list! Friendly environment with an owner that oversees everything and is often out mingling with guests. Pizza is awesome!

Flippin Pizza is definitely a contender. Their pies are tasty, healthy and great when reheated in a skillet the next day. Thin crust with a crunch and tasty on top regardless of what is sitting on the pie.

Il Fornaio in Reston Virgina as been my favorite since they opened and have an awesome Pizza Cristina with arrugula,Parmesean,Mozzerella,Proscuitto, mushrooms, drizzled with white truffle oil, on a thin 12"crust.
Delicious and addictive.
Emilios in Sterling should be mentioned on here as well.

The best pizza in Washington is 2Amys -- no contest. I eat at Pete’s often because it’s close to where I live and it’s good but definitely not as good as 2Amy’s.

Don’t want to get crusty here, but Armand’s...gone? Oh, the humanity!

This won’t be a fair fight because some places are left out that deserve to be in, most people who vote aren’t eating both of the two competing pizza’s and comparing - they only vote for their local regular, and most people don’t even know good pizza from bad. Washingtonian should have vetted a panel of tasters that represent a cross-section of The metro area’s diners, and then matched it against their own staff food critics. Is this why I rarely read the Washingtonian, because like most American media, it’s only a sadly skewed version of reality?

What about Vaso’s Kitchen in Alexandria? One of the few good pizza places around.

I really like Valentino’s - surprised that is not here as well. We drive from Arlington to Alexandria for it often.
