"For important meetings, nothing looks better than Armani," says Nguyen, who recently bought this suit and Neiman Marcus.

What matters to her most about work clothes: “They have to be stylish but comfortable. I don’t have a lot of time to fuss about clothes; things have to fit well and make me feel good.”

Favorite designer: “Armani—it gives you such presence.”

On her shopping list: “I used to wear more skirt suits when I worked in telecommunications. But I recently joined XM, a young, hip company, so I’m buying professional clothes that are a bit more casual—jackets and pants paired with fun tops or blouses.”

Her favorite splurge: “I work hard, so when I feel like I need to treat myself, it’s a pair of Manolo Blahniks.”
