Katharine Ragsdale

Special Events Coordinator

Katharine Ragsdale graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in journalism and mass communication. After graduation, Katharine worked at a promotional marketing firm in Raleigh as lead graphic designer and client services manager. After two and a half years with the firm, Katharine decided to leave her home state of North Carolina and venture north to DC. She started with The Washingtonian in December 2010.

Eleni Savopoulos

Events Manager

Eleni Savopoulos graduated from the George Washington University with a BA in communication. While studying at GW, Eleni interned for CBS's The Early Show in both the New York City and Washington, DC, news bureaus. After graduating from GW in May 2008 she was hired to help launch Washingtonian Bride & Groom and to work on the magazine's special events. She stayed two years before going to Groupon as a marketing and events specialist. She returned to The Washingtonian in the fall of 2011 as an events manager in the new marketing department.

Rebecca Schwartz

Director of Marketing and Events

Rebecca Schwartz, a Massachusetts native, studied business management and marketing at Bucknell University in Pennsylvania. After graduation, she came to Washington, DC, to work with brand strategy and design for The Washingtonian while taking continuing education classes at the Corcoran College of Art and Design. After working at the magazine for more than six years, Rebecca became the director of marketing and events in the fall of 2011.
