Walk Like a Model

How do professional models walk down fashion-show runways in six-inch heels without falling on their faces?

“It’s about balance and finding your center,” says Yun Chong, who has been modeling for more than 20 years. “I use my abdomen. If you have a high heel, you’ll be pivoted forward. You need to lean back and find that center of balance. That’s why a lot of models take yoga.”

Another key, says Chong: “You have to have the right attitude. If you stand up in a pair of heels and say, ‘I can’t do this—they’re too high,’ then it’s like anything else in life. It’s all about putting one foot in front of the other.”
