Families on the Mind at Dorchester Collection Hotels
Looking for family-friendly luxury travel? The Dorchester Collection’s hotels are working hard to create new travel packages and amenities suited just for the little ones.

Very Important, Indeed at The Beverly Hills Hotel, Beverly Hills:
The property recently updated their Very Young VIPs (VYV) program, which is geared toward children under 13. Upon arrival, kids are greeted by name and presented with a VYV Card which allows them access to complimentary beverages at the Fountain Coffee Shop and Cabana Cafe; in-room amenities; a personalized welcome letter and chocolate-chip cookies; a pink rubber ducky and other bath toys; and a Beverly Hills Hotel Teddy Bear. Summer rates start at $495.

Musical Inspiration at Le Meurice, Paris:
This package is timed to coincide with the opening of Musique en Jouets at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs. It provides access to the exhibition's musical toys as well as one night in a guest room or suite at Le Meurice; VIP children’s welcome and goody bag; a Nabaztag rabbit per child; and continental breakfast and children's tea time menu. The exhibition and package run through November 8, 2009. Prices start at around $970.

New Must-Surf Site from Plaza Athenee, Paris:
Plaza Athenee offers young web-surfers an online outlet for creating their own Parisian vacation at www.veryimportantchildren.com. Aspiring travel writers can write their own travel blogs and swap photos and videos of travels in Paris. The site also has links for activities and sights around Paris. Summer rates start from around $825.

Seek and Your Kids Shall Find at Hotel Principe di Savoia, Milan:
The hotel’s concierges are experienced in arranging age-appropriate activities. Some options include: the Milan Aquarium, Museum of Science and Technology, Sforzesco Castle, the planetarium, horse riding, themed parks from 'medieval' to 'cowboy'; and Gianni e Cosetta Colla puppet theater. The new Family Package includes 50 percent off additional connecting rooms for two children; welcome gift and VIP treatment for kids; complimentary use of the rooftop pool at Club 10; and daily complimentary limo service. This is valid through January 10, 2010. Rates start at around $375.

Girls' Dreams come True at The New York Palace, New York:
The New York Palace recently unveiled its new American Girl Place Package. Upon check-in, children receive hand-decorated chocolate lollipops and personal welcome letters for themselves and their doll alike; a complimentary doll-sized travel bed; and an issue of American Girl magazine. Guests can also enter the hotel’s American Girl sweepstakes with a chance to win a different doll every season on display in the gift shop. The package starts from $310 per night and is available through December 31.
