Dana Schwartz was an editorial intern at Washingtonian during our Fall 2006 session.While at Washingtonian Dana helped relaunch washingtonian.com, worked on the January 2007 Wedding Guide, produced several Cap Coms, book reviews, online articles, and contributed to several articles.
Dana graduated in May 2006 from the University of Delaware where she earned a bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in journalism.
At Delaware the doors to journalism were opened to Dana when she began reporting for the independent student publication, The Review, her sophomore year. After that she was hooked and was the newspaper's entertainment editor her junior and senior year. As entertainment editor she was responsible for cd and movie reviews as well as entertainment related features. One of her most memorable interviews was with Matthew McConaughey.
During fall semester of her senior year Dana was as a staff reporter at a newspaper in Scranton, Pennsylvania named The Abington Journal. Here she worked tirelessly on all beats learning the true value of reporting. Dana also was an intern at the newspaper.
Dana is currently the editorial assistant with the APA's magazine, Monitor, in Washington, D.C. She is currently available for freelance work and can be contacted at danaschwartz83@gmail.com.
