Lauren is an editorial intern at The Washingtonian. She graduated in May 2006 from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Mass Communications, and has previously worked for Rolling Stone Magazine, Performer Magazine, The Daily Californian and the San Francisco Opera.
Lauren loves listening to and writing about music. Highlights of her work include interviews with Howie Day, Josh Rouse, and Mark Kozelek in addition to a piece about emo culture.
In Fall 2005, she participated in the University of California Washington Program in which she interned at ABC News Nightline and conducted independent research about the effects of blogging on notions of quality journalism .
Her cubicle is currently decorated with a photo of Michael Jackson, a magazine painting of John Mayer, and a book entitled Squirrels: The Animal Answer Guide.
