Marisa M. Kashino
Marisa M. Kashino came to Washington in 2007 to write for
Legal Times, a weekly newspaper that was dedicated to covering legal affairs, lobbying, and politics. Highlights of her time there included interviewing Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and traveling to Afghanistan to report on efforts to establish a functioning justice system in the country. In the spring of 2009, Legal Times merged with the
National Law Journal, and Kashino also wrote for the combined publication.
She joined The Washingtonian as a staff writer in September 2009, where she continues to cover law and lobbying. Kashino writes feature stories and the monthly Power Players column, and oversees the magazine's Top Lawyers listing.
Kashino is originally from the other Washington. She grew up in the Seattle area, and graduated from the University of Washington where she studied journalism and political science. She now lives in Logan Circle with her fiance and their dog.
