Inauguration Aggregation

Unlike many area school districts, Howard County schools will be open on Inauguration Day. Still, teachers are bracing for lots of absences.

Barack Obama will make a daylong trek to the inauguration on January 17. He'll start in Philadelphia and make pit stops in Wilmington, Delaware, and Baltimore before arriving by train in Washington later that evening.

USA Today takes a closer look at the scope of Obama's Secret Service protection.

A campground in Clarksburg and an estate in Potomac have been opened for inauguration visitors. The campground received its first reservation Monday morning.
