The Inauguration and toilet paper.When Ronald Reagan had a long stint as a movie actor in London during the 1940s, he had his meat flown in from the States because Britain had little of it available in wartime. For all I know he may have brought his own toilet rolls: it used to be said in the past that Americans not happy with the European equivalent took that step.

Gone are the robust bureaus for the Los Angeles Times, Newhouse News, and other once-healthy news organizations. Digital media bureaus now are taking their places with as many reporters and plenty of swagger.
