The Tweet Beat: The Best Congressional Tweets of the Week

By Sophie Gilbert   Published Friday, June 12, 2009

Congressional attempts at Tweet humor are rarely successful. Our representatives would do well to remember this, particularly Darrell Issa when he’s tempted to get creative with the sarcasm. This week: Rick Perry reminds us all of the shining example Texas can set for the rest of the country, Chuck Grassley wants you to know that he is nobody’s tool (in the handyman sense of the word), Claire McCaskill has some fighting talk, both John McCain and Jason Chaffetz come face to face with their idols, Arnold Schwarzenegger uses Twitter to ask California for help, and whoever runs Barack Obama’s Twitter account needs to realize that sometimes technology goes too far. And a very happy birthday to Charlie Rangel.

Should I congratulate Darrell Issa on "liberating prestidigitation"? That last polysyllabic jawbreaker is not yet part of my working vocabulary.
