Trunk shows and wedding-planner help will keep brides-to-be busy this weekend.

Friday, January 29
A two-day trunk show at Crystal Bridal Gallery (8496-B Tyco Rd., Vienna) offers a 15-percent discount on any purchase, including special orders. Call 703-288-3066 to reserve an appointment.

Couples can get their first dance YouTube-ready with an East Coast-swing lesson at 7:30 or a ballroom-dancing lesson from 8 to 10 at DanceWorks Date Night (500 W. Patrick St., Second Floor; Frederick); $15 dollars per person.

Saturday, January 30
Lemon Tulip Cakes offer couples a sweet preview of the big day with a free Private Tasting Day from 10 to 6. Guests can choose from three flavors to try and get cake information and quotes. Space is limited; reserve a spot by calling 703-895-4704. Location is TBA.

Brides- and grooms-to be can get a taste of their reception space at Vyne American Bistro’s (9755 Traville Gateway Dr., Rockville) Bridal Open House and Tasting. Sample the food, meet the chef, as well at the restaurant’s event partners, including Milestones Even Design & Consulting and Paired Images Photography. Noon to 4.

Who needs a pricey wedding planner when Private Receptions LLC is hosting a day dedicated to the Art of Planning Your Own Wedding at the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown (3100 South St., NW; 202-912-4100). The afternoon event gives guests access to area wedding professionals, a vendor panel, and Q & A session moderated by Private Receptions CEO. Swag bags will include a planning companion flash drive and items from vendors. Event goes from 2 to 5 and tickets are $62.50 here.

Sunday, January 31
Area wedding professionals will take over the Dulles Expo Center (4368 Chantilly Shopping Ctr.,
Chantilly) for the Washington Bridal Showcase from 11 to 5. More than 250 industry vendors will be on hand to offer fashion ideas, music, tastings, demos, samples and tips. The event is $10 at the door or $8 online here

If fitting into your wedding gown is a top priority try Diana’s Couture and Bridal’s Bridal Cooking class in Diana’s kitchen (4202 Gallows Rd., Annandale). Diana My Tran, author of The Asian Diet and The Vietnamese Cookbook will lead the “Get Slim the Asian Way” class from 3 to 6. The event costs $150. Eight people are required, so bring along your bridesmaids.
