Le Loup hits the Black Cat Friday night.

Thursday, March 20: Freaks and weirdos are no strangers to the Palace of Wonders (1210 H St., NE; 202-398-7469), but even the most bizarre or eccentric acts pale in comparison to the bar’s Weirdo Show, held every third Thursday of the month. This month’s features sword swallowers, fire dancers, burlesque performers, and, um, a Scottish cowboy. Plus—Mr. Jesus H. Christ himself will make a rare appearance. Now, how can you turn that down, huh? Tickets are $10.

Timed to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the start of the war in Iraq, the Split This Rock Poetry Festival brings in writers from all over the world. Friday, March 21: Featured in our roundup of local bands you should be keeping an eye on (we wrote: “Le Loup’s tunes are all over the place, from dreamy lo-fi folk to soaring electro-acoustic pieces, but its live show is consistently inspiring and entertaining”), Le Loup returns to DC with a show tonight at the Black Cat. Make sure to catch the band tonight—it heads out afterward for an extensive national tour, and it will probably be a while before it’s back in the District. $10; 9 PM.

Feeling like an eggsellent party? Sorry, couldn’t resist. Pros in the City is hosting a Bar Hop and Easter Egg Hunt tonight that kicks off at the Dupont Circle bar Big Hunt. Look for eggs filled with prizes during an extensive bar crawl. 7 PM; $15. Get tickets here.

Saturday, March 22: More Easter-related fun abounds with today’s Capitol Hill Bunny Hop. Register from 1 to 6 PM at the Dubliner (520 N. Capitol St., NW) and make your way through Hill bars like the Tune Inn, Union Pub, Hawk ’n’ Dove, and more. Admission is $10 with two cans of donated food, $13 without. Buy tickets here.

Tonight is the final night of the Jewish celebration of Purim. In honor of this event, the DC Jewish Community Center (1529 16th St., NW) is holding a masquerade party, appropriately called Masquerade and Mischief. 9 PM; $5 suggested donation.

Sunday, March 23:Known for his work with the Gorillaz, Del the Funky Homosapien is a highly regarded hip-hop artist in his own right. He’ll bring his show to the 9:30 Club tonight. $20; purchase tickets here.

Playwright George Bernard Shaw enjoyed pitting good against not-so-good to produce verbal high jinks. In Major Barbara, a daughter with a social conscience is forced to ask for help from her father, the personification of capitalist greed. Ethan McSweeny directs this clever debate, which closes today at the Shakespeare Theatre’s Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St., NW; 202-547-1122). Helen Carey and Ted van Griethuysen head the cast.
