Thursday, November 13: Even if you voted for the other guy, surely you can get behind an open bar. That’s what’s taking place tonight at MCCXXIII when the Women’s Information Network hosts a postelection happy hour. $10 for WIN members, $20 for nonmembers, and free if you join WIN at the event.

Are you a local blog lover? We sure are (as if you didn’t know that already from our Blogger Beat series). Well, one of our favorite local blogs, the Prince of Petworth, is celebrating his two-year blogaversary (it’s a word, trust us) tonight at Wonderland. There will be live music, drinks, and the Prince himself. 8 PM; free.

It’s a Chicago-based magazine, but that didn’t stop Stop Smiling from putting out an all-things-DC issue, which it’s celebrating tonight at Civilian Arts Projects. The issue contains articles on local crime novelist George Pelecanos and actor Anwan Glover (who will both be in attendance). The release party will feature the music of Ian Svenonius and other DJs. 7 PM; a $5 suggested donation will get you a copy of the mag.

Friday, November 14: Did you know DC has its very own Fight Club? Well . . . kinda. Okay, not really. But that is the name of a space (1250 Ninth St., NW) in the back alleys of the Shaw neighborhood where there’ll be a great art show tonight. “Fixation” is an exhibit featuring the works of tons of local photographers (it’s part of the FotoWeek fest, kicking off Saturday) on what it means to live in DC. The opening promises to be a fun time—On the Fly will have a food cart, and there’ll be DJs spinning. Suggested donation of $10; 8:30 PM.

Bright, catchy harmonies and pure pop on a Friday night? Sounds good to us. That’s what you’ll be getting if you go see Spinto Band at the Black Cat this evening, with the great local act Middle Distance Runner. 9 PM; $12.

Saturday, November 15: Why pay more to drink just because it’s the weekend? You can get cheap drinks even if it’s not Monday through Friday. We found all sorts of Saturday and Sunday specials at bars throughout Washington. Bottoms up!

Daniel Craig makes his return as Bond in Quantum of Solace this weekend, and some local bars are celebrating. Want to hit a Bond party? Try K Street Lounge, which is having a Bond-look-alike contest. There will be drink specials, DJs, movie-ticket giveaways, and more. Also, it’s advertising that the “first 50 Sexy Female Ladies” get a free martini—so, uh, good luck with that. 7 PM; $10 for women with RSVP and $15 for guys. Miss the ocean? It’s too cold for swimming, but the National Museum of Natural History has the next best thing: an ocean-themed film series. On Saturday, resident film buff Dr. David Pawson will introduce the classic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) at 12:30 and Swiss Family Robinson (1960) at 3. The films will screen in the fourth-floor conference room, but guests should meet in the first-floor lobby. On Sunday, the films will be shown in the Baird Auditorium, where Dr. Pawson will introduce Mutiny on the Bounty (1935) at 12:30 and Moby Dick (1956) at 3.

We could make a million jokes about how they’ll shake you all night long, but you already know what to expect when AC/DC hits the Verizon Center tonight. (Mostly big hair and nostalgia.) The low, low price of $92.50 can score you your very own seat. 8 PM.

The Northern Virginia AIDS Ministry sponsors the second Concert for Hope in the auditorium of Kenmore School in Arlington. The event will celebrate local work done to combat HIV and AIDS. Performances include Potomac Fever, the a capella ensemble, the Rock Creek Singers, the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington, D.C., and Mosaic Harmony. Show some local band love by grabbing your dancing shoes and heading to the Rock and Roll Hotel for performances by the Dance Party and Ra Ra Rasputin. Dance Party combines '80s New Wave with dance-punk and pop, while RRR is straight dance-rock. Opening acts include Greenland and The Nunchucks. $10; Doors open at 8:30.

B-movie horror film legend Bruce Campbell plays himself in My Name is Bruce. Campbell, mistaken by fans for his character Ash from the Evil Dead series, is kidnapped and forced to battle a monster to save a mining town. We can't promise the film will beat his other cult classics, but stick around after the showings at E Street Cinema for a Q&A with the mastermind himself. Campbell will take questions after the 7:20, 7:45 and 10:15 shows.

Sunday, November 16: Lululemon Athletica, a yoga-inspired athletic-apparel company, will be celebrating the grand opening of its new Georgetown store with a weekend of yoga fun. On Sunday at 11, attend a free aromatherapy yoga class and meditation followed by a light brunch. Mats will be provided.

Chances to enjoy the fall foliage are winding down. Drive through the mountains of the Shenandoah Valley for a Fall Colors weekend at Veramar Vineyard. The vineyard will offer discounted wine prices and holiday gift specials. 11 to 5 PM.
