The Hot Ticket: Your Guide to Events on Sale

Every Thursday, we find out the hottest concerts and when they’re going on sale in the days ahead so you don’t have to do the work. Read on for this week’s heads-ups.

Death Cab for Cutie has lined up a show at DAR Constitution Hall on Wednesday, April 8. Cold War Kids and Ra Ra Riot will open; tickets ($39) go on sale Saturday, February 7 at 10 AM. Use the presale password “possessive” to purchase tickets early from now until Friday, February 6, at 10 PM.

Indie-rock band Modest Mouse announced a 12-date tour last month that was supposed to end on March 8, but the band just announced a surprise performance at the 9:30 Club on Friday, March 13. Kinky is the opening act; tickets ($35) went on sale this morning.

Idina Menzel is a Tony Award-winning actress known for her roles in Broadway musicals such as Rent and Wicked, but she broke into the music industry last year with her debut album I Stand. She goes on tour in March, and she’ll perform at the Birchmere Tuesday, March 24. Tickets ($59.50) go on sale Saturday at 10 AM.

Tickets are still available to Ani DiFranco’s show at the 9:30 Club on Friday, March 6, but another show has been added for Saturday, March 7. Chad Stokes will also perform. Tickets ($40 for both nights) went on sale this morning.

The New Zealand comedy duo Flight of the Conchords is releasing a new album and touring North America this spring. They’re scheduled to stop at DAR Constitution Hall on Monday, April 13. Tickets ($37.50) go on sale Friday, February 6, at 10 AM. Get your tickets early with presale password “sugalumps” until tonight at 8.

Raphael Saadiq, former member of the ’80s R&B group Tony! Toni! Tone! is now a Grammy-winning solo artist. Touring in support of his most recent album, The Way I See It, he comes to the 9:30 Club on Tuesday, March 24. Tickets ($25) went on sale this morning.
