1. Don your best flapper dress or fedora and head to Jackie’s Restaurant in Silver Spring for a night of Prohibition-era fun on Thursday starting at 7. Author Garrett Peck will discuss and sign copies of his latest book, The Prohibition Hangover: Alcohol in America From Demon Rum to Cult Cabernet, and Dino’s drink director, Scott Palmer, mixes up popular Roaring ’20s cocktails. 2. When you think salsa, you probably think Cuba, Buenos Aires, and . . . Arlington? Well, if you don’t, then you should, because Planet Salsa is offering one-hour beginning (8 PM) and intermediate (9 PM) lessons at Yorktown Bistro on Thursday. 3. More than 100 art exhibitors pack Penn Quarter this weekend for the free Arts on Foot festival. This year’s edition, sponsored by Wines of Argentina, promises cooking demonstrations by top local chefs, winetasting, and food samples from more than 30 local restaurants. The festival runs Thursday through Saturday.

4. Called “one of the ten greatest films in the history of cinema” by singer/songwriter Penelope Houston, Muriel, ou Le Temps d’un Retour will be screened at the National Gallery of Art on Friday at 3:30. The film takes place in Boulogne, France, and follows an antiques dealer eager to rekindle a former love while her stepson struggles to forget his war-stricken past. Free.

5. Love free jazz but growing tired of Jazz in the Garden? Instead, jive to the Air Force Band at the Jazz Heritage Concert series starting this Friday at 8. The Grammy Award-winning ensemble New York Voices will accompany the airmen.

7. Relive your college days by pounding Natty Light before dinner. Starting at 5 PM on Saturday, Asylum’s “Natural Light Countdown” offers pints of America’s classiest brew for just 50 cents, with prices rising 50 cents every hour until 11.

8. Sunday is your last chance to check out Philip Guston at the National Gallery of Art East Building. Displayed in the natural light of the museum’s Tower Gallery—whose ceilings are 33 feet high—Guston’s abstract prints and paintings range from hairy knees to cigarette butts. The exhibit is on display all week from 11 to 6 Sunday. Free.

9. Washington’s longest-running street fair is back—the 31st annual Adams Morgan Day Festival, Sunday from noon to 7. Listen to music on two stages, check out handmade crafts from street vendors, and celebrate the diversity of Adams Morgan’s melting pot of cultures outside the realm of mixed drinks. Free.

10. Keep tabs on your fantasy team by heading to Public for its “NFL Season Kickoff” Sunday starting at 1. With 40 flat-screen TVs on three levels, you can easily watch all of your favorite players’ great moves simultaneously. And with $3 Miller Lites all day, you can easily forget their bad ones.
