Buzzed: The Dolley Madison
The Corcoran is holding a martini competition throughout the month of April. We're doing you a favor (and boy, it's hard work!) tasting a few of them out so you know the best. Today, we try the Dolley Madison from The Park.

The spot: The Park at 14th, 920 14th St., NW; 202-737-7275.
The drink: The Dolley Madison, named after the wife of fourth President James Madison. She’s remembered as one of the more fashionable First Ladies. Her namesake drink is a refreshing mix of Plymouth gin, crème de cassis, and lime and cranberry juice.
The price: $9 First impression: A bubbly foam tops the well-shaken mahogany-red martini, and fresh berries rest on the rim of the glass. With the first sip, you realize that the subtle sweetness mixed with the piney gin flavor is a home run.
Lasting impression: Bartender, I’ll have another!
Grade: A-
