Video FeedBack: Posto

Every Thursday, FeedBack asks you, the diner, for a restaurant critique on the street.

By Kate Nerenberg   Published Thursday, December 11, 2008

We staked out Logan Circle’s Posto (1515 14th St., NW), the just-opened Italian trattoria from Tosca chef Massimo Fabbri that took over the space formerly known as Viridian. Diners told us how the wood-fired pizzas compare to others in town, whether Fabbri was able to fix Viridian’s notorious noise problems, and whether they thought the place was a good value.

Have you been to Posto? What are your impressions? Tell us in the comments.

To Rebekah --
Get a better life. Mine is fine. Please do not worry about my editing and spelling.
The food was good. The service was good. The wine was good. Our waiter was good -- mostly because he got the order right because we had to point to the things on the menu that we wanted and pointed to the specials on his list that we wanted. BECAUSE HE COULD NOT HEAR US.
The noise level was not good. Sound baffles under the table ? Are you nuts ?
I did have fun -- because the food, wine and service and friends were good but not because we had to lean in and shout to hear each other.

Why would the reporter interview people who only had sides? As if you could review a restaurant based on only that. Come on!

Shame shame shame on nina-nyc for failing to proofread her comments and correcting her spelling error. There are sound baffles under the tables that you can feel with your hands. Maybe she should lighten up a little. Posto is a fun place that just opened. If it is a quiet dinner that she desires, perhaps she should cook for your friends at home.....

What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. This is the real thing --- a wonderful local restaurant with an open comfortable atmosphere. One of the best places in the city to meet friends and have an outstanding choice of excellent wines! The food is very fresh and perfectly prepared from my view, and the kitchen chefs are on par with any in the city for both quality and price. Also went back to have the pizza and it is as good, if not better than any in DC. This is a deal. I will go back.

Since I live very nearby, I have been to Posto twice since they opened. We noticed that the pizza was notably better the second time we went (just this week). They must have changed something (good for them). The gnocchi, boar cheeks and raviolis were very, very enjoyable also. Yes, it’s loud there but I think for a neighborhood, casual restaurant, it’s not any worse than others. All dishes are priced just about right, we thought – it’s definitely a good value for your money – and a great location/décor to boot! We will definitely go back.

Happened to have dinner there this past Tuesday nite with friends. Food was very good - not quite excellent, a little pricey for DC entrees, wine Ok and service excellent. On the other hand, the noise level was the equivalent of standing inside a jet engine. Shame, shame, shame on these owners and operators who believe that NO sound absorbing materials should ever be used in designing and building a restaurant that actually serves decent food, winde and provides good service. Would not go back because of the noise level --
